Each year we have to provide the Scout Association with a census of our membership. This year our numbers are as follows: Beaver Scouts – 31 Cub Scouts – 46 Scouts – 46 Leaders – 20 This gives us a total Group membership of 143, which is slightly down on 2008.
This years Group Bingo Night will be on Friday 6. March 2009, at the Scout Hall from 19:30 to 21:00. This is a very popular event, so make sure you get your tickets early when they become available early February. All Group Members, families and supporters are welcome to join in the fun.

The first Meeting of the Group Executive for 2009 will be taking place on Monday 2. February 2009 at the Scout Hall and will start at 19:30. All Executive Members and Section Leaders are invited to attend.
2nd Onchan Scouts and Onchan District Explorer Scouts helped out the Onchan Rotary Club with their Christmas Hamper Appeal this year. Members of the Phoenix Troop packed hampers, while members of the Moddey Dhoo Troop delivered hampers to the elderly in Onchan and the Onchan District Explorer Scouts made deliveries to the elderly in Laxey.
The Moddey Dhoo Troop last night served over 125 cups of soup, coffee and tea after Onchan’s Festival of Light. It was a cold night and we are sure that everyone appreciated a hot drink.
