St George’s Parade

Sunday and Thursday Beavers had a good turn out at the St George’s Day Parade last weekend. They all looked very smart and were well behaved throughout the parade and service. Well done Beavers! James C. from Thursday Beavers was chosen to carry the flag, as he was the smartest Beaver on the day. Well done James.

Winning Beaver

imageThursday Beavers recently visited Onchan Library and whilst they were there they took part in the Library’s Easter Competition. James C, one of our Thursday Beavers, was lucky enough to have his entry drawn out first. James won a copy of Danger Island – A Perilous Pop-Up World. Congratulations James!

Visit to Broadway Baptist Church

Thursday Beavers recently visited Broadway Baptist Church in Douglas. This visit, as well as forming part of their Faith Activity Badge and Promise Challenge, was also an opportunity to meet new people and see new places in their local community.

The Beavers had a fantastic time. Pastor Bill Platt made everyone feel very welcome. He explained what it was like being a Baptist and how and why people were Baptised. The Beavers were very excited about being allowed in the Baptism Pool (without the water), and they all managed to squeeze in together! After a little quiz, the Beavers went upstairs to see where some of the Youth Community ‘hang out’, and they finished the evening with juice and a couple of sweets.
