Chief Scout Bear Grylls, made a brief visit to the Isle of Man on the 11. May 2013. He arrived by helicopter at Peel Hill, jumped onto a mountain bike and rode with a couple of Explorer Scouts down hill to meet the Scouts at Fenella Beach who were getting ready to do Coasteering, Kayaking, Climbing and Backwoods Skills. He then walked across the footbridge to meet the Beavers and Cubs who were busy building sandcastles on the beach. The Chief was soon back in the air heading off to his next stop. It was a brief and chaotic visit, with lots of the general public following Bear around, but our members seemed to really enjoy meeting the Chief.
